In the afternoon, Grandpa and I take a nap together.

Cristy's Pizza

It wouldn't be a proper visit without going to Salisbury beach for Christy's pizza. It tastes best with a slice of provolone cheese melted on top.

Indian Dinner Soiree

My Auntie Cheryl Lee Ski hosted an Indian Dinner Soiree at my Papa's house. Currier loves curry!

Sleepover!

Yesterday I spent the entire day at the mall with my mom and her girlfriend, Rebby. After some serious damage to the credit cards, we spent the night at Rebby's house in Kingston, New Hampshire where Rebby's son, Hunter, snuggled with me while we watched the Gremlins. Hunter read me a bed time story and I fell asleep on his lap.
I love my new buddy, Hunter.

Agawam Diner with Papa and Grandpa

My Papa Currier (great-grandfather) took me, Mom and Grandpa to the Agawam Diner for dinner. Papa had sausages (the secret to his long life) and mashed potatoes, Grandpa had meatloaf, Mom had breakfast, and I had rice cereal and summer squash. My Papa is funny. He ripped his dinner roll into little pieces and threw the bread at me like I'm a seagull.

Meeting Grandpa Currier

I love my Grandpa Currier (mom's dad). My Grandpa takes me for long walks on High Street, which is something he does everyday to help with his recovery from the stroke he had 8 months ago. I'm so thankful that he's almost completely recovered.
My Grandpa plays with me, watches cartoons with me, and teaches me about horse races.

A Long Trip Over the Atlantic

Mom and I made it to Newburyport, Massachusetts after a very, very long flight over the Atlantic Ocean. Here I am at the Milan airport gaining energy for my American adventure.

Eight Months Old Today... January 19th 2007

This month I said my first words... "Mama" and "Dada". I said "Mama" first and I say it more often because the crazy woman pounds it in my head all day long... "Say Mama say Mama say Mama say Mama say Mama say Mama!" The first time I said "Mama" she screamed so loud she scared the crap out of me and made me cry. She's lucky I still say it. I'm still not crawling, but I do get up on my hands and knees and rock back and forth getting ready to take off. Until then, I get around on my belly doing the "army crawl". My babysitter, Bina, taught me how to wave "Ciao", which means hello and goodbye in Italian. If you say "Ciao", I will open and close my fist. My parents are so proud of this accomplishment; you'd think I learned to walk on water! I stopped nursing a few weeks ago. A short bout with the flu and a biting incident (I was trying out my new teeth!) forced my mom to call it quits with breastfeeding. I think we were both ready because neither of us seem to miss it. On Tuesday I leave for America to visit my Grandpa and Great Papa in Newburyport, Massachusetts and my Mimi and Papi in The Villages, Florida. I'm excited for the long plane ride over the Atlantic; my mom however, is not.

I love the bath so much that...

my mom is confident that I'll never be known as the smelly kid in school.

It's a good day...

when you stop to smell the flowers.

Downtown Catania on L 'Epifania

Today is Epiphany, the Italian holiday that marks the end of the holiday season. On this day, the good witch, Befana, brings all the good boys and girls special treats. While shopping in Catania, Mom and I ran into Befana and she gave me candy and frightened the hell out of me.
Dad and I in front of the Catania Cathedral, dedicated to the patron saint of Catania, Sant' Agata.
Here I am in the city center of Catania, Piazza Duomo, or as we Americans call it "Elephant Square". This elephant is the city's symbol.
We took a quick stroll through the Mercato della Pescheria (fish market). I liked seeing all the different types of fish and listening to the salesmen yell, "pesce fresca (fresh fish)". I was happy to have a stuffed up nose because it was stinky. I wish someone blocked my eyes for this:

This little piggy went to market and never came home. Oh the horror!

Happy New Year! Ummm...Tissue Please!

I'm ringing in the New Year with chapped cheeks and a runny nose.
